What TrueGuard stores, who processes it, and how it is erased.

Who we are

Ramakrishna Bodi, trading as TrueSignal Holdings, operates TrueGuard: Product Safety Info and decides what is done with the data below. We operate from India. No customer data

The app does not request customer or order access scopes and does not store your shoppers' or customers' personal data. It requests only these scopes: write_products, write_metaobjects, write_metaobject_definitions, write_files and write_inventory.

What we store

• Your store's session data — the store domain, access tokens and granted scopes, plus the name, email, ID, locale and account-owner flag of each staff member who has opened the app.
• Uploaded-document records — filename, file type and size, a SHA-256 hash, the Shopify file ID, the product or SKU-prefix mapping, upload time, and the name or ID of the staff member who uploaded it.
• Extraction records — the AI model used, token counts, cost, confidence, the AI's notes and any error text, customs suggestions with their reasoning, and the full extracted draft: manufacturer and EU responsible-person names, addresses and email addresses taken from your supplier documents, safety warnings, and quoted source text.
• An approval log — store, product and record IDs, time, source-document hash, and the name or ID of the approving staff member. It is protected against edits and deletes in the database; the only deletion path is the store-erasure request described below.

The approving staff member's name or ID is also written to the compliance record in your own Shopify store, where anyone with access to it can edit it. Your uploaded documents are stored in your store's Shopify Files, not in our database.

Who else sees it

• Anthropic (Claude API) — receives each document you upload for extraction. For customs suggestions it receives the product title and manufacturer address. Anthropic's own retention terms apply to what it receives.
• US International Trade Commission — its public HTS search API receives the product title for customs-code suggestions.
• Render hosts the app and Neon hosts its Postgres database. Hosting logs record your store's domain and follow Render's log retention.

We do not sell your data or share it for anyone's marketing.

Retention and erasure

When you uninstall, the app's sessions are deleted when Shopify notifies us. About 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a store-erasure request (shop/redact), and every record the app's database keeps for your store is then erased: uploaded-document records, extraction records, the approval log and any remaining sessions. Background-job entries hold job IDs only and expire within days.

Records the app wrote into your own Shopify store (compliance records, the product-page snapshot, any customs code you applied) and your documents in Shopify Files stay with you; remove them in your store if you no longer want them.

Availability emails

If you email apps@truesignal.company asking to hear when TrueGuard is available, we keep your email address and your message for that purpose only: to send you one notice when the app is available. We delete them after that notice is sent, or earlier if you ask. To be removed, reply to us or email the same address. We do not add you to any other list.

AI-generated content

Draft values are AI-suggested. Nothing is written to your product page or customs fields until a person at your store reviews and approves it. TrueGuard does not give legal advice and does not guarantee that any product meets any regulation.
